Brooklyn Nets vs Boston Celtics

The Brooklyn Nets head to the Garden to face off against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.
The Boston Celtics are currently 40-37 this season, and while the Celtics have locked up their playoff spot this season, Boston is showing their age somewhat.  The Celtics are just 2-3 in their last five games, getting a win last time out when the Celtics hosted the Wizards on Sunday night.  Boston beat the Wizards 107-96 thanks to a team effort that saw five different players reach double digits.  Like I’ve said all season long with this team, the Celtics have some talent, but I question their depth and with age starting to be an issue it will be interesting to see how their legs are come playoff time.
The Brooklyn Nets have had a great season, going 45-32 overall this year while currently holding on to the fourth seed in the East.  The Nets are still playing tough as the season is winding down as Brooklyn has won two in a row and four out of their last five.  Brooklyn has the fifth ranked defense this season, allowing just 95 points per game on average.  Offensively this team does struggle at times, with just an average of 96.4 points scored per game, but if this defense can hold strong through the playoffs, the Nets could prove to be a tough out.
The Celtics are just 34-40-3 against the spread this season, while going 21-16-2 against the number at home.  The Nets are 36-38-3 against the spread on the year, with a road ATS record of 21-17.
The Nets look to be my play here.  Brooklyn has won two out of three against the Celtics this season, with one of those wins coming at the Garden.  Bogans is currently listed as questionable for the Nets, so this is something to keep an eye on.  I like the way Brooklyn matches up with the Celtics, and even though this one is played in Boston, look for the Nets to be the more focused and determined team here, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the Nets escape Boston with a win.
