Glory 6: Istanbul
This weekend sees two of the world's top 10 Heavyweight kickboxers square off as Daniel Ghita and Gokhan Saki headline Glory 6 Istanbul. Winner of this fight will be the clear #2 Heavyweight in the world (behind only Semmy Schilt). That's a good reason to watch, but it's not what makes this a must watch fight.
For proof of exactly why you need to watch this fight, I point you to December 11, 2010 and Daniel Ghita vs. Gokhan Saki I.
It was just over two years ago that these two first met. At that time, the kickboxing landscape was quite different, as the fight was a highlight of the 2010 K-1 Grand Prix. Fans were expecting a classic battle, and those expectations were met. Both Ghita and Saki combined their excellent technical skills with aggression to create a brutal battle. But don't take my word for it watch the full 2010 fight above.
Whether you're a kickboxing fan or not, you should check this out it's the kind of fight any combat sports fan can appreciate. Will Ghita and Saki pick up where they left off on Saturday? I look forward to finding out
