Los Angeles Clippers vs Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Clippers host their cross town rival Lakers for the final time this regular season today from STAPLES Center

Head to head, the Lakers are 4-12 ATS in the last 16 meetings and 1-7 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Los Angeles while the home team is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings and the favorite is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. The Clippers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400, but just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games playing on 3 or more days rest and 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Lakers on the other hand are 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall, but they are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games playing on 1 days rest.
While bragging rights is always on the line when these two teams met, there is much more at stake for both the Clippers and Lakers today as far as playoff seeding goes. While it looks like the Clippers have fourth spot in the West sewn up, the Lakers are still in a battle with the Utah Jazz for the eighth and final playoff berth. Kobe Bryant and company trailed the Jazz in the standings not so long ago, however, three straight victories over Sacramento, Dallas and Memphis on Friday have seen them go a ½ game ahead in the win/loss column with just a handful of games remaining.
I hate not picking a side in this one, but the over looks simply too good to pass up once again. The over is a perfect 8-0 in their last eight meetings and their three games this season have yielded an average of 211 points per contest. In their last meeting back on February the 14th, the Clippers raced away with a 125-101 victory.
The Lakers are coming off a low scoring 86-84 battle against the Grizzlies on Friday, however, they had topped 100 points in each of their previous six games to an average of 105 points per game. Meanwhile, the Clippers laid an egg in Houston recently only scoring 81 points, yet, if you take that game, you will find their average at 106 per game over their last seven games...
