Bayern Munich vs Hannover 96

After holding down Hannover 96 to a 2-0 defeat on matchday 5 of the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich will be facing their league rivals yet again in the DFB Pokal.

Goals from Mario Mandzukic and Franck Ribery in the second-half sealed the deal for Bayern, in a game where they showed their dominance, enjoying 67 per cent of the possession throughout the game.

Mandzukic, who hopes to score again against Hannover, knows that it will be a difficult feat but will draw strength from the home crowd.

"Obviously, you've not had the luck of the draw when you play the club lying fourth in the Bundesliga in the second round. It'll be tough, not least because we're playing them for the second time in a matter of days. They know much more about us. But we are at home with our fans behind us. It's a game only Bayern can win,

The Bavarians will play without the services of Jan Kirchhoff, Mario Götze, Holger Badstuber, Thiago Alcántara, Javi Martínez and Pierre Höjbjerg due to injuries, while Bastian Schweinsteiger may suit up, depending on his fitness level.

In contrast, Hannover boss Mirko Slomka's hopes remain high despite the earlier setback against the Bundesliga giants and said that his team has to score, at least, a goal to be able to win at the Allianz Arena.

The Reds, who have won four of their six games in the Bundesliga, are currently occupying fourth place with 12 points, just four points behind joint leaders Bayern and Borussia Dortmund.

Christian Pander, Mame Biram Diouf and Steven Cherundolo are absentees, while Andre Hoffman's condition will be monitored.

Projected Line-ups:

FC Bayern Munich: Neuer; Rafinha, van Buyten, Dante, Alaba; Lahm; Robben, T. Muller, Schweinsteiger, Ribery; Pizarro

Hannover 96: Zieler; H. Sakai, Marcelo, Sané, Pocognoli; Prib, Andreasen; Stindl, Huszti; Ya Konan, A. Sobiech
