Schalke 04 vs Bayern Munich



Schalke 04 host Bayern Munich as they look to continue the good form in both Germany and Europe. Both the sides overcame their opponents, 3-0 respectively. Bayern defeated CSKA Moscow in a after a well fought first half whereas Schalke defeated Steaua which was a well-deserved victory after a good spirited display from the German side.

Bayern are still unbeaten in the Bundesliga whereas looked well against CSKA with a 3-0 score-line. Schalke are also going through a purple patch after winning the 5 out of 6 matches and also overcame their rivals in the Champions league 3-0.

“We will see what happens. Everybody definitely has to give their very best - Bayern will be favourite to beat us this weekend," the 20-year-old Julian Daxler told reporters.

"But they are coming to our stadium, so I think we have a realistic chance to get a point or maybe even three out of the match."

Schweinsteiger made it to the bench in the last game and made a late appearance whereas Gotze is nearing his recovery. Thiago and Martinez are still out injured.

Schalke look strong on paper after the arrival of Kevin-Prince Boateng and Aogo and are still optimistic about their chances against Bayern, making a poor start to the campaign.

Bayern sit second on the league table, two points behind Dortmund. They got their campaign back on track with back-to-back league and Europe victories and will be looking forward to continue the run of form.
