Denmark vs Malta

Denmark have underperformed in this section for sure and have a real fight on their hands to qualify. Put simply they need a win against Malta and hope that Bulgaria fail to beat Czechs. If Bulgaria do win only a win of at least 8 goals will be enough and although Malta are poor they are no longer that poor.

So Denmark need to do their job and if they can get some early goals who knows. So far this section they have 3 wins, 4 draws and 2 defeats – results have been very mixed indeed, With Denmark capable of thrashing Czechs in Prague 3-0 while then losing 4-0 at home to Armenia.

Malta know their limitations but have seen some improvement recently. The players are gradually stepping up and in evergreen Michaeal Mifsud they have a real goal threat. The Maltese man has signed on for Australian A league and has been quality for the Mediterranean islanders.

In possibly the hardest group of all they have competed but without much success. Just 1 win in 9 games is not a great return but this group has 5 very capable sides. Proof is in the fact four teams still have a shout at qualifying.
