Orlando Magic vs New York Knicks
Head to head, the Magic are 0-5 ATS in the last 5 meetings while the favorite is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings. The Knicks are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 home games following a road trip of 7 or more days, but just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games. The Magic on the other hand are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 6-0 ATS in their last 6 road games, but just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 0 days rest.
Just as looked like the New York Knicks would go winless on their recent five-game road trip, they managed to register a win in Utah on Monday as they pulled away late for a 90-83 victory. With virtually their whole front court out through injury, the Knicks really struggled to score on their recent road trip, averaging just 83.4 points over their five games, which is over 15 points under their season average. While Amare Stoudemire will be missing for the next six weeks, both Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler are still questionable for tonight’s game.
(Note, this game was written before the Magic took on the Pacers last night)
While wins have been hard to come by all season long for the Orlando Magic, they continue to be one of the better teams in the league at covering the spread away from home. After Sunday’s against the spread win in Milwaukee, the Magic have now covered in six straight away from home and are 19-12-1 ATS on the season. Not only that, but Orlando is also 9-3 ATS in their last 12 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600, which is pretty rare for a team with their record.
