Montreal Canadiens vs Pittsburgh Penguins

The Montreal Canadiens travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins on Tuesday night at the Consol Energy Center.
Earlier this year we saw an absolutely wild affair between these two hockey clubs and we can only hope that this one on Tuesday night is half as good. There were 13 goals scored in that game and the Penguins finally won the thing by a final score of 7-6. These have been two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference all season long and nothing has changed to this point. The Penguins are rolling right now, winners of 12 straight games and coming off a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. They trailed 1-0 midway through the third period but Sidney Crosby tied the game with his 14th goal of the season coming on the power play and Tyler Kennedy scored the game winner in overtime. Marc-Andre Fleury made 27 saves to pick up the win and improve his record to 17-5-0 on the year. Things haven’t been going as smoothly for the Canadiens as they’ve had some trouble with the lowly Buffalo Sabres in the past week. On Tuesday night they fell behind 2-0 to the Sabres but mounted a third period comeback before losing 3-2 in overtime. After a win over the New York Islanders on Thursday they hosted the Sabres again Saturday night and suffered a similar result. The Sabres scored twice in the middle period and Ryan Miller shut the Canadiens down for most of the night and handed them a 2-1 defeat. Michael Ryder scored his 10th goal of the year on the power play in the third period to cut the lead in half but it would be the only Montreal goal of the evening. The Canadiens outshot the Sabres 38-19 in the losing effort.
Montreal is 1-4 the last five meetings between these two teams. The Under is 5-2 the last seven meetings in Pittsburgh.
